Obrigoto!

As Annemarie taught us on Saturday...it means Thank You! We are so thankful for all our friends who came out to support us at the fundraiser/BBQ/good time. We are also thankful to Swiss Cove for allowing us the use of the grounds and for Pastor Jim's love, prayers and support. Big thanks to FISH Ministries for making all the great food and serving. Thanks to Kim and Todd from Proclaim for providing the music and some very kind words.
Thanks for being there with us as we are preparing to go...we can't go without you! You are sending us! We share the same message for a lost and broken world... the hope of eternal life...Obrigoto Senor! (Thank You Lord!)

Mark's Ordination

Mark was ordained at our church, Swiss Cove Christian on Wed. evening, it was a really nice service. The band was great! Bob Gailey spoke about Mark and some of their times they had worked together in Haiti. Gary surprised everyone with a song he had written just for the service. Kathy and Denise had just got back from Brazil the day before and brought Mark a Bible with English and Portuguese translations, he has been reading it every day since! My favorite part of the service was when Nick and Noah got up to speak, I was so proud of them! ( I know pride is bad, but a mom can't help herself sometimes!) It was pretty hard not to cry as I listened to both of them read scripture and talk about their Dad, some friends came up later and told me they also got teary!
Fellowshiping after with friends from both churches went by much too fast and I didn't get to spend enough time with everyone, but I loved seeing you all!

Hello! This is my first time updating this blog (or any blog)! A big thanks to our wonderful friends Carman and Erik Kasper for all their help with this blog and with our upcoming fundraiser. We have never had a blog before, so this will be a learning experience! I have been asked to explain what we will be doing in Brazil as missionaries with Central Brazil Missions ( CBM), so here goes-

First off, we are the Cellura Family, Mark, Annemarie, Nick and Noah. I'm Annemarie, a wife mother and teacher. I'm especially excited about working in the women's, children's and English ministries. My husband Mark, who has so far been to Brazil six times, and has a real heart for the people of Brazil, and a gift for organizing building projects. Noah, who will be turning 13 soon, is looking forward to meeting new friends aand getting an entirely different experience by beginning 8th grade on a different continent. Nick, our oldest son, will be staying behind to finish school at the University of North Florida and will come visit us on breaks.

We will start out in Goiania, a bustling city of 1.2 million. We will be in an intensive language course, learning Portugeuse, while we are busy with that we will also teach English. This is one of the many opportunities we will have work with the youth at CBM's churches. We are looking forward to helping host the teams that arrive each month from the U.S. My husband Mark will also be working on the development and refurbishing of CBM's camp property just outside the city. Throughout this we will work closely with the leadership team of CBM to discover how we can best use our gifts to serve the people of Brazil.

After a year in Goiania we plan to head to the Amazon! We'll be keeping you posted on that in future blogs!!

God bless,
Annemarie
